Ray Liotta, the actor and producer best known for his role as Tommy Vercetti in the open-world masterpiece Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and his role in the film Goodfellas, has passed at the age of 67.

On May 26th, while filming his upcoming film 'Dangerous Waters,' Ray died while sleeping in his hotel room in the Dominican Republic.

On Twitter, Rockstar Games paid respect to Ray Liotta, recalling the actor's contributions to the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

Ray Liotta's career took off with 'Something Wild' in 1986, and he is most recognised for his role as Henry Hill in Martin Scorsese's 'Goodfellas,' alongside Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. Millennials will remember him most for his video game voice performances as Tommy Vercetti in 'GTA: Vice City' and Billy Handsome in 'Call of Duty: Black Ops.'

He was engaged to Jacy Nittolo and has a daughter named Karsen. Liotta also got a Spike Video Game Award for Best Performance for his portrayal of Tommy Vercetti.

Rockstar Titles re-released the Grand Theft Auto games from the PS2 generation for newer systems last year. Despite a bumpy start, the developer has worked out some of the trilogy's worst flaws and made it more pleasant.
