PUBG creator Krafton donates INR 1.5 CR for the help against COVID-19 in India
India continues to battle against the virus.

KRAFTON, the South Korean gaming company and the creator of the popular title PUBG Mobile has contributed INR 15,000,000 (Rs 1.5CR ~ $202,653) for COVID-19 relief in India. The amount is donated from Krafton's Indian subsidiary called "PUBG India Private Limited" and is collected to the Prime Minister’s PM CARES Fund (Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations).
India is currently reporting a high number of cases and the country has taken a serve hit in this second wave of the virus. Krafton's announcement of contribution was made in a blog post on their official website.
Mr. Changhan (CH) Kim, Chief Executive Officer, KRAFTON, Inc. said on the donation, “India is navigating a challenging time with the current wave of COVID-19. We remain committed to supporting the efforts of the Government in battling this unprecedented crisis. We hope our contribution to the PM CARES Fund will help the aid efforts currently operational on ground.”
"With this contribution, KRAFTON wishes to join hands with the Government of India in its fight against COVID-19 and provide necessary medical aid, purchase oxygen supplies and extend additional resources to people across the country in this hour of need.", the blog continued.
While Company's prime title PUBG Mobile was banned last year, the developer then had promised an India specific version followed by a $100 investment and to date tries to make a comeback within the region. Not long ago, Sean Hyunil Sohn, Head of Corporate Development of Krafton laid emphasis at the Indian Gaming Conference 2021 on how vital the Indian market is and when asked about the return he commented “I cannot really tell a timing, because we don't know yet. But what I can tell you is that we care about the Indian market greatly and that's why I get to know you and I get to know a lot of friends in the Indian gaming industry. So definitely we will work hard to make it happen.”
