Nintendo Switch records over 100 million units sold
The regular switch accounts for the majority of the sales.
Nintendo Switch was originally released in 2017, and by the end of 2021, it has sold over a record-breaking number of 100 million units.
The sales total includes all three Nintendo Switch models that have been launched thus far. Nintendo's most current sales report reveals that 103.54 million copies were sold as of December 31, 2021, of which 24.1 million were sold in the fourth quarter (q4) of that year.
The regular Nintendo Switch Console undoubtedly accounts for the majority of the sales, accounting for more than 80% of the total, followed by Nintendo Switch Lite which has sold 17.87 million copies and the newest Switch OLED with 3.99 million. However, coming to the numbers, the Nintendo DS is still Nintendo's best-selling till date with 50 million more units sold than the Switch.
Following the launch of the OLED in October 2021, Nintendo has not revealed any official intentions for a new Switch anytime soon. The full earnings report for Nintendo is available here.
