Nintendo 3DS Officially Discontinued
Nintendo will now focus on Nintendo Switch. Production for Nintendo 3DS officially discontinued.

According to Nintendo's UK Website, no new units of Nintendo 3DS are in production. The US Website, however, has removed Nintendo 3DS products from the website. However, you can still buy new games for existing ones.
In an exclusive interview with GameIndustry.biz, Nintendo’s spokesperson confirmed that Nintendo 3D’s production had ended earlier this year.
"Nintendo and third-party games for the Nintendo 3DS family of system will continue to be available in Nintendo eShop, on Nintendo.com and at retail.”
Existing library of more than 1000+ Nintendo 3DS game titles are still available to download and which contain massive hits, with a lot more content to explore and enjoy!
The spokesperson further added: "We currently have no plans to end any existing online services for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Online play and Nintendo eShop will continue to be available and it will be possible to access and re-download all previously purchased content in the foreseeable future."
When Nintendo 3DS launched, it was a massive hit with over 76 million copies sold worldwide and selling 384.07 million units of software! It is pretty sad to see this demise of Nintendo 3DS considering its features and interesting games that the product had to offer. Existing 3DS owners can still purchase games online via Nintendo’s eShop but no further purchases can be made in terms of the handheld product.
