League of Legends | Astralis’ general manager Deficio steps down
The organization behind one of the most dominating Counter-Strike teams ever has rebranded their League of Legends division with the rebranding of Team Origen into Astralis itself.
With Astralis rebranding Team Origen, a follow-up announcement made it to the sight from general manager Martin ”Deficio” Lynge stating that he is stepping down from the position.
It’s been a crazy, challenging, rewarding but also stressful last two years, but as of today, I will be stepping down as GM. The organization is going in a new direction and so am I.https://t.co/RoHsvXn2xF https://t.co/07fUpktrfQ— Martin Lynge (@Deficiolol) September 15, 2020
“It’s been a roller-coaster of highs [and] lows with strong Spring Splits but failing to develop for summer,” Deficio added. “While the end results have been disappointing, I’m still sure we had good teams capable of making Worlds both years, and I take away a lot of learnings about team development.”
Origen has been sloppy in the scene lately, they finished third in the regular season of 2020 LEC Spring Split but were eliminated at the hands of G2 Esports after heading to the playoffs.
There's no concrete word where Deficio will be going next. He only stated that ”the organization is going in a new direction and so am I.”
