Dreamhack postpones all remaining events of 2020 over coronavirus concerns
The year has hugely disrupted the primary lifestyle by the on-going pandemic of Coronavirus with countries going under lockdown, travel bans, restrictions on gatherings and it looks like things are going to stay the same way for a while for prevention measures. Now, another organisation takes a hit of this virus, the Swedish organiser Dreamhack has now officially announced the remaining events of the year as postponed.
Co-CEO Marcus Lindmark announced that, "the goal for all of us at DreamHack is to provide great experiences at our events, which thrive by bringing communities together for these shared and beloved festival weekends all around the globe. We have never had to postpone events like this before—but these are extraordinary times, and the safety of our attendees and staff has never been more important than now."
Dreamhack Dallas, Summer and Montreal were announced as postponed earlier this year and now to be precise there are another five events that hop onto the same bandwagon of being postponed to the next year - 2021.
The list of affected events that are announced as postponed is given below:
DreamHack Rotterdam — originally scheduled for Oct. 16-18, 2020
DreamHack Hyderabad — originally scheduled for Oct. 31-Nov. 1, 2020
DreamHack Atlanta — originally scheduled for Nov. 13-15, 2020
DreamHack Winter — originally scheduled for Nov. 27-29, 2020
DreamHack Madrid — originally scheduled for Dec. 11-13, 2020
The rescheduled dates are yet to be given out and will be announced on a later date. We will let you know as soon as the word is out.
Meanwhile, Dreamhack will continue to host online events for the rest of the year such as Dreamhack Open Summer or the Dreamhack Open Featuring Fortnite.
