CSSPA In Talks With Tournament Organizers On Returning To LAN Events
There’s a slight chance of offline events coming back but with many precautions in place.
The Counterstrike Professional Players Association (CSSPA) is currently in contact with tournament organizers with regards to the potential return of LAN tournaments and to laydown “clear and safe protocols.”
In an official statement released by CSSPA, raised a major concern about returning to offline LAN events and have initiated a conversation with various tournament organizers “to ensure a return too LAN which is as safe for players as possible.”
Meanwhile, the entire world is affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, traditional sports events have opted to continue and execute tournaments with strict measures. A prime example of this is the IPL T20 League which happening without any live audience in a stadium. CSSPA expressed that regulations will be levied upon “travel, testing policies, interaction with staff, media, fans as well as other general measures.”

“As in any other professional sport, returning to physical events during the COVID-19 pandemic exposes players to considerable health risks due to travel and added exposure to a larger number of people.”
Talking esports events, League of Legends World Championship 2020 is currently happening in Shanghai, without a live audience. There’s a possibility that many TOs might opt for offline LAN tournaments without any live audience.
