Barcelona FC and Tencent sign a strategic esports partnership deal

Spanish football giants: Barcelona FC has inked a strategic esports partnership deal with Tencent a Chinese multinational conglomerate holding company.
According to a release, Barcelona and Tencent will “engage in deep communication” in this partnership, this will fortify Barcelona’s efforts in esports. This partnership will expand Barcelona’s esports presence in the industry. This strategic partnership was announced at the Tencent Esports Summit that took place in Hainan, China.
FC Barcelona’s esports division at present competes in two tournaments: Rocket League and Pro Evolution Soccer (PES)
This partnership will mostly revolve around generating educational knowledge about esports tournaments & business with the possibility to explore more avenues in the future.
Earlier this year it was reported that Barcelona is looking to expand its esports division by signing League of Legends team which is developed by Riot Games (Tencent Company)
This is the second partnership deal between Tencent and a Football Club as it already has an existing partnership with Manchester City.
This partnership will help in tapping a wide audience which will be fruitful for both the parties involved. An in-detail announcement is yet to be made public.
