The popular battle royale game Apex Legends Mobile, which is available on mobile devices, has announced that it will be closing down later this year. The game was initially released on May 22, 2022, and Respawn Entertainment has already confirmed today that it would be cancelled before it has been in existence for a full year.

For those who don't know, Apex Legends is a hugely popular multiplayer game that was first released on PC and Console. Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind the critically acclaimed Titanfall series, created it. The mobile version of this game was released last year and it will be discontinued on May 1st, 2023, according to a recent announcement made by the publisher, which is presently owned by EA (Electronic Arts). According to Respawn Entertainment, this choice was made as a result of events outside its control.

The firm has said that it no longer accepts real money to be used for in-game purchases. Additionally, effective today, the game will no longer be available in online retailers (1st February 2023). This was not the only disappointing news, as EA also announced the cancellation of the highly anticipated mobile adaptation of its iconic Battlefield game. EA's decision to terminate Apex Legends Mobile comes just weeks after the game was named Game of the Year 2022 on the Apple and Google app stores.

The firm said that despite a promising start, the game was eventually discontinued for a number of reasons. This includes its content plan and the low standard for both quantity and quality. Because of this, the game's creators and company have chosen to abandon the mobile version in May 2023. Remember that this choice has no impact on the game's real PC or console versions.
